Marini at Aragon
The Aragon Grand Prix 2026 will represent a sort of challenge for Luca Marini in many ways: on the Spanish track, Honda’s #10 has never gone beyond 7th place dating back to 2022, a race in which he also set the fastest lap. However, the last weekend he raced in Spain was in 2024, due to an injury that kept him away from the 2025 GP.

Mission consistency
Consequently, besides the break due to the summer pause and the return at Silverstone in early August, Marini will have to quickly readapt to the track also to maintain excellent consistency in results. On the eve of Aragon, in fact, Marini is the only rider to have finished all GPs in the points zone: “I am happy with the consistency we have managed to show every weekend and the work done by the team to continue improving until Sunday’s start – commented the future Tech3 team rider – our consistency has been very good and we need to work to find a bit more rhythm at the start of the weekend, so as to make life easier for ourselves on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. If we look at our speed, we have the potential to be closer to the front, but we have to fight too much at the start. I missed Aragon last year due to injury, so I expect many improvements from 2024.”

Also trying to give his best will be Joan Mir, one of the home riders coming off a disappointing result in England. At Aragon, the Spaniard achieved two consecutive MotoGP podiums in 2020 and 2021, then riding the Suzuki: “It was almost like we had another summer break after Silverstone, so I can’t wait to get back to racing. Aragon is a circuit I really like and where in the past I managed to be quite competitive. Last year we got one of our best results there and I think we can be closer compared to the last race. As planned, we will take one race at a time, trying to get the most out of every weekend to finish the season in the best possible way and give an additional reward to the team for all the hard work done.”
