A KTM between Aprilia and Ducati
The comparison between Pedro Acosta and the KTM, which took place during the first summer break, brought more than satisfactory results for the Spanish rider, and the proof came at the last British Grand Prix: in a race featuring Italian teams such as Aprilia and Ducati, ‘El Tiburon’ crossed the finish line in fifth position ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio, thus entering the top-5 and beating his teammate Brad Binder, the second KTM in the standings in 8th place, by a full 16 seconds.

Acosta’s honesty
An excellent result for Marc Marquez’s future teammate at Ducati, who reiterated his satisfaction with the progress made at Silverstone: “I am quite happy to have taken a step forward during the weekend – he commented after the race – I was honest with the team after the summer break and raised some issues because we are not that far from 3rd place in the championship. It was a way to start this second part of the season, and we improved this weekend on a track where I struggled a lot last year. We finished with a top-five placement with a different strategy. We pushed the tires at the start and then tried to hold on, and it seems to have worked. A nice race.”

Greater satisfaction also for the South African Brad Binder, who after 11th place in the Sprint race entered the top 10 in Sunday’s race. The 30-year-old indeed highlighted KTM’s progress not only in the last English weekend but also considering the last GPs: “My weekend improved a lot compared to Saturday afternoon. I felt better in the Sprint with used tires and in the race I knew I had to be smart and take good care of the tires… maybe even too much, because in the end I still felt grip! In general, I am a bit happier than usual because I was able to push the bike more. It’s working as I prefer. The last two GPs went better – they are not yet close to the results I want, but we are making progress – so let’s keep going.”
