55 years ago Lamborghini launched the Miura SV on the market. The Super Veloce version of a model that made automotive history, not only in the super sports segment. Today, more than half a century after that debut, the Toro brand celebrates this anniversary together with the Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli. “Two icons that defied expectations and broke limits to push beyond every boundary,” explains Lamborghini.

The astronaut looks beyond boundaries in a film that pays tribute to the anniversary of this iconic super sports car. And it praises it from every point of view: “Miura SV pushed beyond limits, beyond all imagination. Even after 55 years you can still feel the power of the engine, the way the clutch moves with the gearbox, transferring that power to the wheels. You feel it at the wheel and tame it. Engineering and technology are my obsession. I always look forward, to the future, but driving the Miura SV I feel young again.”
A film celebrates the anniversary
We recall that the Miura SV arrived in March 1971 and was the definitive version of the model. Compared to previous versions, power increased up to 385 HP. The rear part of the car was widened to allow the installation of wider tires, while the front headlights lost their characteristic eyelashes. The production of the SV was limited to 150 units, the last of which left the assembly line on January 15, 1973. It was replaced by the Countach only in 1974.
