And with a considerable advantage, three tenths over Aprilia teammate Raul Fernandez, almost four tenths over Fabio Di Giannantonio’s Ducati VR46, and half a second over Jorge Martin and Ai Ogura, two other riders from the Noale factory.
‘Bez’s lap time is the new track record at the Silverstone circuit.
Bezzecchi’s words to Sky
Marco Bezzecchi was interviewed by Sky Italia about Friday on track: “These have been difficult days, I had to undergo 2 operations. The knee one, which was supposed to be harmless, ended up being complex. I want to thank very much everyone who supported me these days, all the doctors who put up with me at the hospital for the dressings and the whole Academy and Vale and all my team, family and friends, everyone. I am tired after today, that’s clear. It wasn’t a vacation, here in England I slept much more than at home.
It was tough, we did everything to recover quickly and get back in shape. The shoulder surgery went well on a complicated fracture, it took a lot of work and the recovery was hard and in the first days I suffered a lot. And I also carried the knee with me for many days, I had a deep wound from the fall. It was closed to let me go home, but then they had to reopen it, fix it and clean it better. The operation was tough“.

And he continued: “I am struggling today, after the third lap I started to struggle a lot whether I pushed hard or less. The Sprint physically stresses your body and it will be a tough day, since there are also the qualifying sessions. Everything we can do, we will do. We try to do what we can and see,” Bez concluded.
