Di Giannantonio hunting for redemption
MotoGP returns to the track this weekend for the San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP, one of the most important events of the season for team VR46. Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli are ready to face the home race, as is the Tavullia team, which at Misano secured a double podium in 2023 (a second place both in the Sprint and in the race) and a Sprint podium last year.

After a complicated Aragon GP, Fabio Di Giannantonio is determined to return as a major protagonist at Misano, where he arrives in fourth position in the overall standings with 208 points (48 points behind the leader and 24 from the Top-3). In past home events, the Roman rider has achieved two third places in Moto3 (in 2017 and 2018), a second place in 2019 (in Moto2), for a total of three consecutive podiums. Furthermore, last year he obtained third place in the Sprint.
Franco Morbidelli arrives at Misano with great enthusiasm, ready to confirm the progress shown in recent races. Despite the difficulties in Aragon, Morbidelli demonstrated great potential that he is eager to express on his home track, where he achieved his first MotoGP victory in 2020 and obtained a Sprint podium (third) in 2024.

Fabio Di Giannantonio: “We are very pumped for Misano. It’s our home race and we have to push to the maximum. The home crowd, family, and friends always give that extra motivation to do even better. We arrive at Misano with very good data from last year, where we went strong. This certainly makes the work easier, but the responses we got from the Aragon weekend, which was not easy, will also be useful. We are ready and can’t wait to race in front of our fans.”
Franco Morbidelli: “Misano is always wonderful, the atmosphere is magical and the home crowd is always special. We arrive at our home track definitely pumped because we had good potential in Aragon. Unfortunately, we couldn’t realize it, but we aim to make up for it this weekend. The goal will be to have a clean weekend, it will be important to try to get the most out of everything and do a great job because, along with Brazil, this is the most important race for me.”
