The first podium has arrived in Canada
Red Bull and Max Verstappen celebrated the first podium of 2026 in Montreal. Soon the FIA will also announce the first verdict of the ADUO and the Red Bull-Ford power unit should not be able to access the improving ‘bonuses’, demonstrating the amazing work done by the men under Ben Hodgkinson’s command. Max Verstappen: “In Miami we made positive steps forward and the pace is much closer to what we need, we are improving. I had the feeling that we managed to get better performance from the car and I felt more comfortable. We will still continue to give our best because there are always aspects to improve and work on, and that’s how we operate as a team. In Monaco a good strategy is fundamental and, as always here, it will be essential to get the best possible result in qualifying. It was nice to have some time to recharge before the double event and it was positive to be close to home and see the family, especially in a hectic weekend on and off the track.”
Ford Pride
Ben Hodgkinson: “In Formula 1 the goal is to win, but this first podium achieved with our Power Unit is definitely a milestone to celebrate, recognizing the importance of what has been achieved in such a short time. Red Bull Ford Powertrains is an emerging reality competing with some of the most important names in the automotive and motorsport industry. Being able to compete with them at the top is a source of pride for the whole team.”
