Verstappen, first year in Red Bull without wins?
Despite the recent and massive contract renewal, Max Verstappen does not hide his dissatisfaction with his current level of competitiveness, which risks costing him the first year without wins in F1 as a Red Bull driver. A risk that circumstances could turn into reality: the Dutchman has in fact admitted that the team is already thinking about 2027.

Verstappen’s words
“We are not yet happy with where we are at the moment. Surely we want to improve for next year. Also for this reason, we are using 2026 to make sure we are in a better position with the car next year“, these are Verstappen’s words, reached by our Carlo Platella. “Of course, then, the engine will also be better. Step by step we will learn and hopefully this will push us in a better direction for the future“.
“Will this be my last renewal? I have no idea how I will feel in four years, but I get along well with the team and I have many projects outside F1“, Verstappen continued.

“We all have the hunger and desire to get back to the top. Obviously, there have been some changes in the team, but we are working towards that goal and I like what I see. Only time will tell what will happen. However, why shouldn’t we get back to winning? We have already shown that we know how to do it“.
Verstappen, in short, is already looking at the next season with the goal of making a decisive step forward. The work carried out during this year must therefore be evaluated with a future perspective, aware that Mercedes has always been the benchmark, McLaren has made a decisive step forward, and Ferrari knows how to be consistent both on track and in updates.
