Dearest enemies
The tense stories continue between Max Verstappen and George Russell, two who in recent years have repeatedly shown that they do not like each other at all. The latest chapter of their personal rivalry did not actually take place on the track, but via radio at the start of Q3 in Zandvoort. The sole protagonist of the episode was actually only Verstappen, who showed that he certainly does not have much respect for his colleague.
Russell ‘crybaby’
Everything happened at the moment the cars entered the track: the Red Bull mechanics actually gave the green light for Verstappen to leave the garage just as Russell’s car was approaching, who had been sent out a few moments earlier from the Mercedes garage. Verstappen, perhaps suspecting that the marshals might judge his entry into the fast lane as borderline, put his hands up and opened up via radio with his race engineer, Giampiero Lambiase, launching a scathing taunt towards the English Mercedes driver.

“We will probably have George crying on the radio about the pit exit, but there was nothing dangerous“, said Verstappen. However, Lambiase replied that in reality no complaints had come from cockpit #63. This comment, however, testifies to the level of dislike that the four-time world champion feels towards Russell, with whom there have been quite harsh exchanges before.
