A cold Verstappen towards Spa
Max Verstappen approaches the Spa-Francorchamps weekend with the intention of putting an end to the controversies and forgetting Silverstone. To soothe the Dutchman’s discomfort, Red Bull has shelved until further notice that Macarena wing whose malfunctions sent the four-time world champion off track: Super Max, however, is the type who looks for facts and only appreciates words to a certain extent. That is why at the Spa press conference he doses them very sparingly, expressing himself almost in monosyllables, confirming a tense situation with the team.
Verstappen’s words
“Honestly, I don’t know what to expect from this weekend, we’ll see tomorrow. In Austria we were strong, in Silverstone not, and also for this reason I don’t know what to expect in the coming days, so it’s better not to think about it too much and just go on track“.
Also on the choice to go back to the old rear wing Verstappen is brief: “I think the reason why we will have the old wing is quite obvious. We will see when the more updated one will be ready to be used again“.

“We have to look to the future, also trying to fix the current problems we have on the car, but it’s an open discussion“, the Dutchman added about the departure of some engineers. “Sometimes there is a bit of disappointment after a race, but after Silverstone I went home, and on Wednesday I returned to the factory to prepare the weekend. Clearly I continue to work like this all year, then there are seasons when you are more competitive than others, but as far as my approach is concerned, nothing changes. People come and go, it’s part of the game, sometimes you would also like certain people to stay but sometimes life and sport are like that: you just have to carry on, trying to find new talents“.
