The new signing is already within Ferrari
In Melbourne, former McLaren man Cedric Michel-Grosjean has already been seen in action within Scuderia Ferrari; on paper, he was snatched from the Woking team to become Lewis Hamilton’s new race engineer.
At the moment, Hamilton has Carlo Santi as his race engineer, and judging by the words of Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur a handover between the two technicians does not seem imminent: “I think Michel-Grosjean is an excellent signing and that he can get along well with Hamilton with a view to becoming his race engineer, but right now Carlo Santi is looking after Lewis and the pair is working well – the words of Vasseur reached by the French magazine Auto Hebdo – eventually we will make a decision together, but there is no rush”.

Vasseur is satisfied with Hamilton’s start to the season: “As with all things, it is too early to reach conclusions and we must wait for performance over distance; after the Sprint victory in China a year ago he seemed ready for the season of a lifetime, however the base is good and he feels more comfortable with the car compared to a year ago“.
