The team principal of the Maranello Scuderia Frederic Vasseur was categorical in the press conference explaining why it would be extremely unfair to further penalize Ferrari with regulatory adjustments to help rival teams: “I think we have already substantially modified the start rules with the five seconds of pre-start. A year ago I went to the FIA warning everyone that the start would be difficult with these rules and I was told that the car must be designed to comply with the regulations, not modify the regulations to adapt to the car. We designed the car to comply with the regulations and the five seconds already penalize us. Enough is enough. For me, the issue of starts is closed.”
