Points only partially
After four consecutive GPs ending with both drivers in the points zone, for Racing Bulls a particularly positive streak of results ends, but the result of the Belgian Grand Prix was anything but a hair-pulling moment for the Faenza team. Finishing the race in the top ten, in fact, was Arvid Lindblad, 9th under the checkered flag a day after qualifying where he had already been a protagonist with the seventh fastest time, but not only that.

Fifth with Alpine
Thanks to this result, combined with Franco Colapinto’s 10th place, Racing Bulls has caught up with Alpine in the Constructors’ standings, with the two teams now sharing the fifth position with 61 points: “Bringing home points is a great way to end the weekend here in Belgium, especially after showing strong pace from the start – commented the young British rookie – it was a lot of fun on track, and Gabi (Bortoleto, ed.) and I pushed each other throughout the race. I felt we had the potential to finish eighth, but credit to Gabi and Audi for making the most of the Virtual Safety Car. Every weekend I feel more and more comfortable in the car. As a team, we are working very collaboratively, understanding each other better and continuing to develop the car. It’s fantastic to see all this hard work translate into results on track. I’m confident looking ahead to the race in Hungary next week. I love the corners and the few straights, so I can’t wait to race on one of my favorite circuits on the calendar.”

Despite starting from ninth on the grid, Liam Lawson’s Sunday was more complicated compared to his teammate’s, with the final 12th place showing all the difficulties that caused the end of consecutive points finishes: “It wasn’t the easiest race today – added the New Zealander – we had a great start, probably the best of the season, but unfortunately we didn’t have enough pace throughout the race. We started the weekend in a good position, but while other teams found more performance during the race, we couldn’t make the same progress. We tried different modes to improve things, but unfortunately none made the difference we hoped for. Despite this, there are still positive aspects to take away. It was another encouraging weekend regarding car development and I look forward to having the full upgrade package on my car next week. Hungary is a very different circuit from Spa, so hopefully we’ll be back fighting for more points.”
