Racing Bulls, Lawson seeks confirmation in the Hungarian GP
Racing Bulls arrives at the Hungarian Grand Prix with important insights gathered during the Spa-Francorchamps weekend. In Belgium, the Faenza team brought two different versions of the car to the track: Arvid Lindblad used the updated car, while Liam Lawson raced with the previous package. The comparison between the two drivers gave encouraging signals to the team, as Lindblad managed to reach Q3 and finish in the points on a selective track like the Belgian one, capable of highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the cars.

For Lawson, the Hungarian GP represents an important appointment. The New Zealand driver, who has had a positive season so far, needs to continue achieving results to consolidate his position within the Red Bull program and defend his seat for 2027, especially considering the pressure exerted by Nikola Tsolov. In Budapest, number 30 will finally be able to count on the updated VCARB 03, an element that could offer him greater confidence before the summer break.

“I’m really excited to go to the Hungaroring,” commented Lawson. “It’s a circuit I’ve always enjoyed, with technical corners and few straights, so it feels like a great way to finish the last race before the summer break. I’ve spent the last few days reflecting on what we learned in Spa, but also on the progress we’ve made during the first half of the season. The team has worked incredibly hard on developing the car and I’ll be tackling this race with the full update package on my car, so we’ll be giving our all to fight for points.”

“I’m looking forward to racing in Budapest this weekend,” added Lindblad. “It’s a circuit I’ve always enjoyed because it’s a real driver’s track, with lots of corners and few straights. Energy management is always an important factor, but the characteristics of this circuit should make it a little less critical than some of the previous races. After Hungary, it will be nice to switch off for a bit during the summer break, although I’ve really enjoyed the momentum we’ve gained recently and a part of me would happily keep racing. The break will be important to recharge the batteries and come back fully rested and motivated for Zandvoort.”
