2026, in these very early stages, has been the year of Marco Bezzecchi. The Rimini rider started the season in the same way he had finished the previous one: winning repeatedly. His consecutive successes have now reached five and the three victories achieved in the first three GPs of this year are a small record that hasn’t been seen in MotoGP for 12 years. We at FormulaPassion.it spoke with Carlo Pernat about the chances of success for the Rimini native and more generally for Aprilia, which occupies the top two positions in the Riders’ standings given that, in addition to Bezzecchi, Jorge Martin has also returned to being extremely competitive and fast.

“Regarding Martin, we know: his only problem is his physical condition – commented Pernat – it seems that he has now overcome most of the problems and I wish him well because he suffered like a beast like Marc [Marquez]. At this moment Bezzecchi is very strong. The absolute phenomena of this MotoGP are three and they are Marc Marquez, Quartararo and Pedro Acosta. Marco, however, has grown a lot. He is not a phenomenon, but he is a tough one, someone who knows how to ride. He reminds me a bit of Wayne Gardner, to make a comparison. Watch out for Martin
“But now Martin is back – Pernat warned – and Martin is a ‘beast’. Now he’s there, if he starts winning Grands Prix then you could find yourself with the famous two roosters in the hen house. Even if that is a problem that I, as a manager, would always want to have. Because the more roosters you have, the more hens you can make. Then of course, you have to know how to manage them. It’s clear that your teammate is the first person you have to beat”.
