McLaren always on the podium
Very positive signals from McLaren at the end of the Miami Grand Prix, especially from the reigning world champion Lando Norris; after the success obtained in the Sprint race, moreover ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri, the British driver crossed the finish line in 2nd place in the Sunday race behind Antonelli, with the Woking team again on the podium with both its drivers thanks to Piastri’s third position, albeit favored at the end by Leclerc’s mistake.
Surprising progress
A weekend, the first after a long break, that turned out to be almost entirely a surprise for the #1, at least according to Norris’s own feelings. Never in the top-3 in the first three races of the world championship, the Englishman acknowledged the effectiveness of the package brought by the team to Miami, while admitting that he still has to catch up with Mercedes, the team that currently leads the Constructors and Drivers standings with Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Norris’s words
“I think no one expected us to win this weekend – he commented to Sky Sport microphones – in Japan we were about a second slower in the race. The fact that now we are fighting for the win I think is a huge surprise. Maybe this track suits us more, and now we go to Canada, where the track is incredible for Mercedes, so we must not get too excited. We have made many improvements, but we did not expect to be fighting with Mercedes, and that must make us very happy. We have to take the weekend as it comes. Today we could have done a better job and fought for the win as well, but we will see what we can do better next time.”
