Norris seeks the feat
Lando Norris knows well what it means to be under pressure. The victory in the Hungarian GP strongly relaunches his pursuit of the F1 world title, but the McLaren driver is aware that the most difficult part comes now. Last year he found himself in the position of first having to chase Oscar Piastri and then defend himself from an aggressive Max Verstappen. Now he has the advantage of racing with a clearer mind, and if it’s true that 91 points from Kimi Antonelli are a lot, McLaren will bring important updates even immediately after the summer break (certainly before Mercedes, which will still have some novelties at Zandvoort but not a real package).
The effectiveness of the updates introduced in Hungary gives Norris confidence, with McLaren having found solidity in recent races and already being one of the fastest cars on track at Spa. But can it be enough to believe in a second world title? The world champion responds with a mix of seriousness and jest.

“He should feel the pressure, that’s for sure. The pressure is definitely on him. There’s none on me, I feel very confident,” was Norris’s comment to his compatriots at Sky Sports Uk.

“Mercedes, as a team, has made more mistakes. We have made fewer and certainly shown great strength, but I expect them to continue winning races. I expect the same from us too. We just need to be perfect from here on.”
In short, Norris doesn’t want to give up and goes on holiday with great confidence both in McLaren and in his renewed ability to manage the championship moments: the setback of 2024 and the triumph of 2025 can be the fuel for the comeback against an Antonelli who must continue with this consistency of performance.
