Spa never disappoints for Sir Lewis
The Belgian Grand Prix represented the tenth round of the 2026 season, the penultimate before the Hungarian weekend and the subsequent summer break. Yet, on one of the circuits where Lewis Hamilton has won the most in his career, the British Ferrari driver managed to achieve a milestone that highlighted his growth since arriving in Maranello in 2025 to date, despite finishing 4th in the race.

Differences between 2025 and 2026
Currently 2nd in the Drivers’ standings, ‘Sir Lewis’ has managed to secure so far 159 points, three more than those obtained at the end of the 24 races of his first, disastrous season at Ferrari. Having moved to Maranello after a long and triumphant period at Mercedes, for the first time in his career, Hamilton not only failed to achieve any victory in a world championship but not even a podium. Eliminated three times consecutively in Q1, #44 experienced the thrill of a victory in red for the first time only in the 2026 Catalan GP, the same one that contributed to his current role as direct pursuer of leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli (who took his place at Mercedes).

Other numbers
In the first ten races of this year, Hamilton is also the only one to have completed all laps of every GP, with 6th place being his worst finish. In addition, despite not yet having secured pole position, the Briton is still ahead in the direct challenge with his teammate in qualifying, with Leclerc further back on the grid than the seven-time world champion on six occasions.
