The new F1 under fire
The new Formula 1 rules have faced criticism from the majority of drivers, led by Max Verstappen. No one else has threatened to retire from competition, but within the pits, there is a sense of dissatisfaction and frustration. Mercedes aside, which logically defends the new generation of cars, these rules have not made an impact on teams and drivers; nor on the public, considering the plummeting TV ratings in France and Spain.

A voice out of the chorus comes from Juan Pablo Montoya: according to the Colombian, drivers must focus on driving the vehicle they have in their hands, without putting pressure on Formula 1 to change the regulations.

“There are too many people with opinions and too many people willing to listen to them. Other people’s opinions matter much more than in the past. In my day, if you didn’t like something, you just had to accept it“, these are the words of Juancho reported by Casinostugan. “I understand that drivers don’t like the rules. “The last regulatory cycle was defined as terrible for ‘porpoising‘, which according to the drivers was dangerous and caused back pain.
