Andrea Kimi Antonelli at Monza made a comeback that was in some ways sensational, but according to Juan Pablo Montoya the fact that the Italian had significantly better tires was overlooked. George Russell, with worn hard tires, almost managed to resist, capitulating a few laps before the checkered flag.
“I think Kimi Antonelli will become world champion judging by how he drives every race weekend – said Juan Pablo Montoya reached by BetBrothers – however, I believe Russell is starting to reach his level. I think George perhaps thinks too much about how he drives, how he manages the tires and everything else. When he is under pressure, he ends up finding a very high pace, and if he had used that pace in the early stages of the race, Kimi would have had no chance to win.”

“I think George was faster all weekend, but George was never given the chance, with the medium tires in the race, to prove it – added Montoya – so, the harsh truth is that, in my opinion, if they had both been on medium tires, George would have won the race.”
