Montoya agrees with Villeneuve
The technical knockout of George Russell in the Canadian GP allowed Andrea Kimi Antonelli to notch his fourth consecutive victory, extending his lead to +43 in the Drivers’ standings.

The Italian driver had a good chance to win even without the technical problem suffered by his teammate because he seemed faster than Russell. Juan Pablo Montoya shares the same view, but also highlighted a significant aspect.
“I agree with Villeneuve, Antonelli right now has the luck of a champion – said Montoya reached by sports betting – he makes mistakes, but never pays the price. On at least three occasions in Canada between the Sprint and the GP he risked serious damage to his Mercedes by going off track and nothing ever happened. He has to be careful, though, because sooner or later this luck will run out and the tendency to make mistakes could backfire. In Monaco, for example, if you make a mistake you hit the wall and risk a 25 to 0. The championship is obviously not over, we saw last year how much Lando Norris and Max Verstappen came back, but it is clear that the pressure is now all on George Russell also because I think in Canada Antonelli was slightly faster than him.”
