“With these bikes you can’t wheelie and I had forgotten that. It wouldn’t go up and when I was about to land I knew it was difficult to avoid the fall. I didn’t hurt myself, I’m just sorry for the mechanics who have to work when today we should have just been celebrating”. This is how Jorge Martin commented to Sky microphones on the crash during the lap of honor after wanting to celebrate the return to victory after 511 days with a wheelie that proved unmanageable.
