Marquez celebrates catching up to the top of the World Championship
Chase completed well in advance. After Mugello Marc Marquez had 102 points to recover from Marco Bezzecchi and it took only seven race weekends to join Jorge Martin at 274 points.
At Misano Marc Marquez scored another 37 points after the 37 already secured at Aragon. Martin stopped at 18 also due to problems that arose in the forearm and here is the catch-up with Marco Bezzecchi who dropped to -33 due to the crash on the first lap.
In an interview with DAZN Marc Marquez, asked by Dani Pedrosa if he feels better as a ‘hare’ or as a ‘hunter’, answered emphasizing that for him it is much better to be the hare. “From a mental point of view it is much better to be at the top of the standings, and be the one chased, rather than the chaser – said Marquez – I feel mentally free and this allows me to focus on my work”.

Alarming words for Aprilia who at Misano also suffered the overtake by Ducati in the Constructors’ standings. As Marquez pointed out, now he must be careful not to overdo it and not relax too much so as not to give the gift back to rivals. “Next week could be a different story – said Marquez – the important thing is always to give your best”.
