A great debut for the Racing Bulls driver
Arvid Lindblad immediately took center stage on his F1 debut. The Racing Bulls rookie even pushed up to third place for a few hundred meters at the start after overtaking Lewis Hamilton and fought tooth and nail against all the opponents he had to deal with, including Max Verstappen (the Dutchman did not appreciate what from his point of view was a brake-test entering the pit lane).

Lindblad finished the GP in eighth place; Verstappen on his debut was just as gritty as the Racing Bulls driver, but had to retire due to a technical problem. Two similar debuts, the only difference being the final result due to reliability.

“Crazy race, insane to be third on the first lap fighting with Lewis Hamilton and then with Max Verstappen – Lindblad said at the end of the race to Sky Sport – there are things I need to work on, but it was a good GP and finishing in the points goes beyond all expectations. Was I the best on track? It’s not for me to answer that question, but I think I did a good job together with the team.”
