Ferrari currently lagging at Spa
The World Championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli was the fastest in Friday’s free practice at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. The Mercedes driver stopped the clock at 1’45″944, the only one to go below the 1’46” barrier.

The Ferrari after shadowing Max Verstappen in FP1 ended up quite behind at the end of FP2. Lewis Hamilton finished in fourth position over seven tenths behind Antonelli, Leclerc did not even go beyond eleventh place, 1.5″ behind the Italian driver.
Charles Leclerc commented on Friday’s free practice at Spa: “Today we did a lot of work and I believe there is still room to improve our competitiveness. Tonight we will refine the car setup for tomorrow and work to find something more in terms of qualifying lap performance.”

Ferrari very likely, as already happened in Barcelona and Austria, may have run with more fuel and especially with power units not equipped with the ADUO updates in what are the traditional engine stints. Therefore, tomorrow it is reasonable to expect a big step forward from the SF-26s.
