Hamilton has already collected more points than in 2025
Lewis Hamilton in this first half of 2026 has already improved on the – meager – haul collected in 2025 at his Ferrari debut. The seven-time world champion achieved his first success in red in Barcelona and has been on the podium five times overall.
In the Drivers’ standings, Hamilton is in second place, 45 points behind leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who in turn is a perfect interpreter of these new cars compared to his teammate George Russell.
Hamilton in a press conference explained from his point of view what the ‘magic formula’ is to make this generation of cars, characterized by the theme of energy management, work best.

“Today’s cars are simply a bit easier to drive and more forgiving than the previous generation of cars – Hamilton explained – with these latest ones, you don’t have the bouncing problem related to accelerator use. Power delivery management requires a lot of work; optimizing this aspect is an additional element to be taken care of together with the engineers. In the past, drivability in the traditional sense was what mattered most. Today, however, drivability is linked to energy delivery management, a parameter that continuously changes. It is fundamental to understand that you can influence the car’s behavior by varying the use of the accelerator by partially opening, releasing, pressing fully, or reducing pressure by 10%. This changes the energy delivery during the lap. Understanding these dynamics is more important than ever today.”
