‘Zero’ also in Hungary
Also in Formula 1, as in other world championships, the summer break has begun. After a good start to the championship, the American team (seventh in the Constructors’ standings) has not scored any points for five consecutive races, from Barcelona to Budapest. In the last weekend, Ocon did not go beyond 16th place, with the Frenchman commenting on the difficulties encountered during the race: “We had a good start, we were almost in the points zone, which was very positive, but we can’t keep up with the others. Unfortunately, we are not fast enough to do so. Also, the tires degraded a lot, so we need to work to improve the car’s performance. We need to focus on the next updates and hope they make a difference: the team is working on it. There are many positive aspects to take from this weekend, I am quite happy to have managed to get the most out of the car and to have maintained the same consistency from Friday to Sunday. Now we just need to improve performance.”

Getting worse over the weekend
17th at the finish behind his teammate, Bearman had to serve a five-second penalty for not respecting the blue flags, which had already come under scrutiny due to the contact between Sainz and Piastri and Toto Wolff’s accusations against engineers of other teams, accused of not warning their drivers to give way to those fighting for top positions. In this way, the Englishman dropped to 19th place: “It was a very long day, as we expected. The lack of pace in qualifying worsened in the race, with lots of sliding and tire degradation. Besides this, I couldn’t overtake, so I got stuck and anyway I didn’t have an adequate pace. We need to understand why it went so well in Spa and so badly this weekend, because the feelings were completely opposite and I lost all confidence in the car. I didn’t do a single lap this weekend feeling comfortable, so we need to understand why and analyze the situation thoroughly.”
