Ferrari ready to ignite Monza with a livery dedicated to 1996 and Schumacher

The teaser leaves no room for interpretation

“Home is calling”. This is how Ferrari commented on a short video on social channels in which the theme of the celebratory livery that will characterize the SF-26 of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc is ‘spoiled’.

Some frames of the video are unequivocal and our correspondents in the Netherlands Carlo Platella and Simone Peluso had already had a preview of what will indeed materialize during the Monza weekend from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6. Ferrari will race with a celebratory livery dedicated to Michael Schumacher to celebrate 30 years since the first victory with Ferrari – the 1996 Spanish GP in Barcelona – and 20 years since the last one (the 2006 Chinese GP).

Michael Schumacher won the Italian GP at Monza for the first time in his career in 1996 on his Ferrari debut at the temple of speed, a victory that came right after the win at Spa in Belgium. The victory at Monza was the last of that season, which ended with third place in the Drivers’ standings behind the Williams with eight podiums in total.

The Ferrari F310 had a red livery with black wings and golden rims. Although this is purely an aesthetic element – the effectiveness of the ADUO-2 will be decidedly more relevant for the hopes of the Rossa and its fans – it is impossible to deny that a celebratory livery of this caliber arouses no small anticipation and curiosity.
