Ferrari updates in the World Championship race
Ferrari believes in it, and wants to bring updates already upon returning from the summer break. The last five race weekends have shown that Mercedes is beatable, unlike what was feared at the start of the championship: with Lewis Hamilton’s victory in Barcelona, the season changed, and from that moment the competition seemed much fiercer, first in statements to the media and then, above all, in facts.
The Maranello team intends to launch a further attack on Mercedes already at Zandvoort. While in Brackley they will introduce some minor components, on the SF-26 a new floor is expected, an evolution of the one that debuted in Barcelona. The news was reported by colleagues from Autoracer. Ferrari, however, will not limit itself to introducing aerodynamic innovations, but has already set its sights on the Monza weekend.
The goal of the Red was to debut the “ADUO-2” engine in front of the home fans. A mission that Ferrari still hopes to accomplish, installing a new turbocharger linked to the concession system for late engine manufacturers. The turbocharger update should allow the engine to maintain power more effectively and have more top-end speed on the straights.

According to our colleagues, another important package is in the works and will arrive in autumn, thus likely in the “American” part of the calendar, which will see four races (Austin, Mexico City, Interlagos, Las Vegas) in five weeks.
Floor and power unit are, in short, the two main topics for Ferrari in the second part of the World Championship, aware that the competition will not stand still. McLaren has already announced that the Hungarian GP was only the first step of a series of updates that will involve the next races, with a substantial package for Zandvoort. Mercedes might wait a few more GPs, and even from recent words by Toto Wolff no hurry emerges: developments at Brackley will have to be strategic and targeted, aware of having saved more than others in the first part of the championship, and therefore having more resources to spend within the budget cap limits.
