Leclerc is there, Ferrari too
Charles Leclerc confirmed the excellent feelings that emerged from the first outings at the Hungaroring, finishing FP2 of the Hungarian Grand Prix in second place behind teammate Lewis Hamilton. The Monegasque immediately appeared at ease behind the wheel of the Ferrari, finding a good balance between single-lap speed and consistency in long runs.
During Friday, number 16 worked on both single-lap pace and race pace, knowing that track position is fundamental at the Hungaroring and therefore a leap in quality will be needed, especially on Saturday. The Monegasque is optimistic but believes that the half-second gap to the competition is not realistic.
Leclerc’s words
“Our performance looks good and that’s a positive aspect. The weekend is still long, so we need to stay focused and continue to work hard to ensure we stay ahead tomorrow as well,” this was Leclerc’s comment on the Hungaroring practice sessions.

“I expect a very close qualifying session. I don’t believe that the advantage seen today against our opponents will be the same tomorrow, so we will have to do a perfect job. If we manage to maintain the same driving feeling, I am convinced that we can have a good qualifying session“.
Leclerc’s Friday, as evidenced by the Ferrari driver’s words, provides very encouraging indications for the rest of the weekend. If the SF-26 manages to confirm this level of competitiveness tomorrow as well, the Monegasque will have all the cards in order to enter the fight for pole position and for success in the GP.
