A rediscovered Pecco?
The ‘refrain’ of a podium in the Sprint and difficulties in the GP for the official Ducati team was repeated in the United States as well, but unlike what happened in Thailand and Brazil, it was Francesco Bagnaia who brought Ducati to the podium in Saturday’s race.

Pecco even seemed headed for success, but he was overtaken by Jorge Martin on the very last lap. Ducati Corse General Manager Luigi Dall’Igna nevertheless applauded Bagnaia’s performance: “It was fantastic and rewarding to see him racing in the lead for so long – said Dall’Igna – on Sunday he didn’t start well, but he quickly made up for it with a determined and aggressive race, with a fast and confident first half of the race. He showed the right determination of someone who wants to be a protagonist.”
Marc Marquez paid for Friday’s crash: “Marc wasn’t at 100% and still had uncertain feelings on the bike – Dall’Igna added – the set-up required a configuration that doesn’t allow him to be the Marc we know and from whom we expect so much.”
