Bez, from sixth to third
After securing sixth position on the Balaton starting grid, Marco Bezzecchi was well aware that the best chance to gain positions would be at the start. And so the start of the Hungarian GP Sprint made the difference for the world championship leader, as he moved into third position and managed to maintain it until the checkered flag.
Bezzecchi was unable to keep pace with Acosta and Marquez and therefore, with the championship in mind, settled for the third step of the Sprint podium.
The Italian thus extended his lead over the first of his pursuers in the standings, Jorge Martin, now 20 points behind.

Bezzecchi’s comment
“My Sprint was very, very difficult. The track was a bit strange, especially the grip at the beginning was very, very low. It was difficult for me to find the rhythm. Fortunately, the start went well, but then I felt a contact from behind. I don’t know exactly what happened, but I started to have a lot of difficulties with the rear. I am very satisfied with the result achieved after quite difficult moments. We’ll see tomorrow.”
