Impossible not to start from the start where Martin moved from eighth to first position with a tightrope walker maneuver at the Dunlop esses where he ‘circumnavigated’ Marquez, Bagnaia and Bezzecchi moving from fourth to first position by exploiting the change of direction to his advantage after an incredible outside move at the entrance of the chicane.
“You were all on the left, so I went to the other side”, Martin’s words. “I had a shitty start”, explains Bagnaia who then recovered ground with a great braking.

“When I did a lap that couldn’t have been worse and saw that you didn’t get within 0.7 I knew it was done”, Martin added regarding the race pace that allowed him to win the 18th Sprint of his career, becoming the all-time leader in Saturday races.
