Madrid: the chance for redemption?
The last weekend in Monza was not at all positive for Haas, which besides suffering from speed problems on the straight also finished another race outside the points zone with both drivers. Yet, precisely in Italy, the American team had brought updates that could prove important along with another aspect not to be underestimated for the next GP, moreover the first on a new track.

It is about the Madring, located in the Spanish capital, which will constitute a sort of real challenge for all drivers, but also an opportunity. This was acknowledged by Oliver Bearman: “I am excited for this weekend: on a new track, anyone can manage to master the circuit. Even though on Sunday the race pace penalized us, we are all very happy to see that the update introduced in Monza worked; so I face this weekend with optimism. I love the energy of Spain: the fans live Formula 1 almost with the same passion as football, so I can’t wait to breathe that atmosphere. The ‘Madring’ has many interesting sections, but for me the corner ‘La Monumental’ is the one I can’t wait to tackle live: it is an absolute novelty for Formula 1.”

Also excited for the new GP is teammate Esteban Ocon, who compared the Spanish track with another on the calendar: “It’s nice to get back on track in Madrid right after the Monza weekend. The new circuit looks challenging and fun: a mix between a street circuit and a permanent track, similar to Miami, which also includes a long elevated corner. It will be essential to get familiar with the new layout as soon as possible; I have worked on the simulator and we have done our homework, so it’s a great opportunity to make a mark on the ‘Madring’. We want to finish the European season on a high.”
