Waiting for Verstappen
After the disappointing conclusion of the British Grand Prix, Max Verstappen seemed more frustrated than ever with his team. Some sources have gone so far as to say that the relationship between the four-time world champion and Red Bull has never been so low.
Verstappen complained quite significantly about not feeling heard by his team and this certainly cannot give Laurent Mekies peaceful nights, who knows well how his champion – mathematically unable to be in the top 2 of the standings at the summer break – could break free looking towards 2027.

The denial from Piastri’s entourage
It is no secret McLaren’s interest in Verstappen, although it is not clear whether it is already for 2027 or for 2028 – the year Gianpiero Lambiase, Max’s right-hand man, will join the English team.
There has been talk of a possible swap with Oscar Piastri, which could also trigger a performance clause in his contract.
However, this hypothesis was strongly denied by Mark Webber – the Australian’s manager – recently, who labeled them as “inventions“.
Is Red Bull snatching Bearman from Ferrari?
But Bearman would not be the only one on Red Bull’s notebook, as stated to Sky UK by David Croft during the Silverstone weekend: “Behind me is Red Bull’s hospitality. Laurent Mekies, the team principal, was the man who signed Ollie Bearman for Ferrari’s Academy. I know Red Bull is watching him very closely. If he doesn’t find a way to enter Scuderia Ferrari, he could be a great option for both Red Bull and Ollie.”

Bearman has been part of Maranello’s youth program since the 2022 season and at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix he took the place of Carlos Sainz – victim of appendicitis – qualifying eleventh and finishing seventh in what was his Formula 1 debut race. Then the experience at Haas, where he proved to be among the best emerging drivers in the Circus, with 36 GPs raced and 66 points scored at just 21 years old.
