Spa to return among the top ten
On this weekend, Formula 1 will stop at one of the most spectacular and at the same time feared circuits by drivers, Spa-Francorchamps, the historic venue of the Belgian Grand Prix. It will be here that several teams, even before the Hungarian GP and the following summer break, will want to end their results crisis and finish a race in the points zone.

A mission that Haas will try to achieve, which, except for one of its home GPs in Miami, had finished all races with at least one of its drivers in the top 10. A positive series of results that was interrupted starting in Monte Carlo, for a total of three consecutive races without any points scored by either Bearman or Ocon. In addition, the situation was worsened by Racing Bulls, which is instead experiencing one of the most positive moments in its history characterized by four consecutive GPs with both its drivers among the top ten finishers, which allowed the Faenza team to place sixth in the Constructors’ standings at -1 from Alpine and, above all, +38 over Haas.
Hope in the rain
The American team’s goal is therefore to reduce the gap as much as possible starting from the Belgian weekend, beginning with Oliver Bearman, coming off a disappointing Sunday in his Silverstone but at the same time surprisingly targeted by Red Bull for next season: “Spa is a circuit that every driver looks forward to facing. It is an incredible track, rich in history, and every sector represents a real challenge. Eau Rouge is obviously one of the highlights, but Pouhon, for me, is a fantastic circuit to drive. The weather can also make things interesting, since the circuit has its own particular microclimate, so I would be surprised if we didn’t see some rain, but it keeps everyone alert and, for us right now, it could represent a fundamental opportunity to fight for points. We are working on different areas, aware of our strengths and our limits, but if we manage to get everything that is within our power, I am still excited about what this weekend could hold for us.”

An even more difficult season so far for Esteban Ocon, who still has good memories on this track. Besides his F1 debut, the Frenchman achieved third position in qualifying in 2018 at the wheel of the Force India, still his best result in the fight for pole: “Silverstone was not the easiest weekend for us as a team, but personally I felt much better in the car compared to the last races, so hopefully we can maintain this momentum also this weekend. Spa is a circuit I always like to return to. It is a legendary track and has given us exciting races. It is where I debuted in 2016 and where I got my best qualifying result, so it is a place full of memories. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since that first race: time flies! The weather is often unpredictable, which can create opportunities but also challenges, so we have to be ready to adapt and make the most of every situation. At the moment we are in a position where we have to seize every opportunity that arises and we will focus on maximizing every session and building momentum during the weekend.”
