Macarena, the FIA insights
After the two incidents involving Max Verstappen between Austria and Great Britain, caused by a malfunction of the Red Bull’s rear wing flap, the International Federation was prompted to take a closer look and clarify any dangerous dynamics for driver safety.
Ferrari has also come under the FIA microscope, equipped with a rear wing flap – although operating differently from Red Bull.

Ferrari’s calm
Already in recent days, a certain calmness had emerged from the Ferrari environment regarding their Macarena wing, which in fact has never encountered technical problems. Red Bull decided not to bring it to Spa-Francorchamps and will install it – after new checks and probable improvements – at the world stage in Budapest.

Frederic Vasseur, Ferrari team principal, stated – as reported by The Race -: “Ours is not a concept similar to Red Bull’s, because it does not rotate in the same way. We have had no problems. At first, we were a bit slow to get it working and did not use it in the first races. We brought it on track after the fourth race and so far we have covered 10,000 km without any issues.”
