“Antonelli penalized at Monza? I have to talk to dad Marco, so we take the pressure off him“. Monza uphill for Antonelli
In a meeting in Zandvoort with some media – including FormulaPassion.it – Kimi Antonelli confirmed without beating around the bush that the choice between Monza and Baku was resolved in favor of the home track, where the 19-year-old from Bologna will install an extra unit of his power unit that will force him to start from the back of the grid.
“The penalty for the new engine will be at Monza – Antonelli said – It was a shared decision because it is one of the tracks where overtaking is easier. It is also true that it is my home race, but in the end I think more about the championship and I have to evaluate where I can give myself a better chance to recover positions and get a result. For this reason, Monza is definitely at the top of the list to take the penalty”.

Kimi Antonelli remains very positive and optimistic: “At Monza it will still be great, there will be a lot of cheering and so I can’t wait. It will definitely be very different from last year, with a different atmosphere, but still I can’t wait. I will also have a very very cool special helmet”.
