The Overtake from Noale
With three victories conquered in the first three races of this season (which become five consecutive considering also the last two GPs of 2025) Aprilia arrives at the first European event of this championship with the undeniable role of favorite. The Andalusian circuit of Jerez will serve as a litmus test to definitively certify an overtake against Ducati which from a performance point of view – looking at what was seen on track in Buriram, Goiania and Austin – seems to have already happened.

The leap forward by the House of Noale seems to have caught Ducati unprepared and also surprised some neutral observers like Giacomo Agostini. The legendary Ago, interviewed by the Spanish newspaper Marca during the Laureus Awards event held in Madrid in recent days, admitted to being positively surprised by the improvements of the RS-GP26.
Marquez the man to beat, but…
“Aprilia has made a big step forward– declared the 15-time world champion – they have more power than Honda or Yamaha and they have created a wonderful bike. They have two great riders, because Martín and Bezzecchi are very strong, and they have a bike that allows them to give 100%. Ducati, despite being behind, is working hard because it wants to maintain a high level. Therefore, it will be very exciting for the public to see how it goes, because it will be a show. We hope the show lasts all season“.
“Marc [Marquez] is the man to beat because he is the champion – added the Italian motorcycling legend – but it is also true that right now, Bezzecchi and Aprilia are very strong. I believe the World Championship will truly begin right in Jerez. I hope all the riders are in good form and then we hope the best one wins. There are several riders who can fight for victory; let’s wait and see what happens in this race“.
