MotoGP, a motivated Bagnaia in Hungary
Francesco Bagnaia arrives in Hungary with very high motivation and the awareness of having regained competitiveness in recent races. The two consecutive podiums have restored confidence to the Ducati rider, especially after the performance offered at Mugello, where he was able to maintain a very high pace in the initial stages of the race only to then succumb to an Aprilia which at this stage is superior to the Borgo Panigale manufacturer.

Now the focus shifts to Balaton Park, a circuit that could prove particularly indicative of the riding sensations of the two-time MotoGP world champion. The hard braking of the Hungarian basin will be an important test for Bagnaia, who in the last year and a half has often complained of a poor feeling under braking. It is certainly a track that “Pecco”, who prefers a smooth riding style, does not like, and he certainly did not hide it in the press conference.
Bagnaia’s words
“Let’s say we go from stars to stables: Mugello is one of the two most beautiful tracks in the world, this is by far the ugliest. I know that safety is put first and that they are trying to do their best, but if the layout is this, it’s difficult,” this was his comment to reporters. “Last year we were really bad here, the bike was very nervous under braking. This year, however, we have improved under braking and in corner entry. So, in my opinion, we will be fast.”

“Mugello was definitely a positive weekend, the work we have been doing for some time has started to bear fruit. In the last laps I raised the times a lot because there was an excessive drop in the rear tire, but we knew that, so I tried to be as fast as possible in the first phase of the race to finish in a good position. We are happy, it was needed, but we want to improve and start fighting with the Aprilias, because in my opinion until mid-race we were as fast as them,” he added to Sky Sport MotoGP. “Balaton is a different track, there isn’t much wear and the tires last a long time, there’s a lot of grip and so probably the Mugello problem won’t be there, we’ll try to do well.”
