Valtteri stay calm
In recent days, several rumors suggested a very concrete possibility of Valtteri Bottas being sidelined by Cadillac due to results below expectations. His replacement would already be in-house, namely test driver Colton Herta. Too bad a small detail was overlooked, namely that Herta does not yet have the Super License and therefore could not even take the colleague’s place, if necessary.

Clearing the field of speculation was the team principal Graeme Lawdon, in an interview given to RacingNews365: “There is not a shred of truth in all these rumors, I can say that without a shadow of a doubt. I want to be very clear: they are completely false. There is nothing true. If we look at the work both drivers are doing, it is much more than what those from other teams do, because they are both building the team and racing. No one knows what we ask of them session after session and race after race and on development.”
Bottas stays and Herta must wait
Lowdon then continued: “Some of these rumors don’t even seem to take into account the basic rules of F1. It is said that we should replace Valtteri with Colton, but Colton does not have enough points for the Super License. And that says a lot about the quality of these rumors. And there is nothing true either about the rumors that Checo wants to go to another team.”
In short, Cadillac is moving forward with Bottas and Perez, fully satisfied with their contribution.
