MotoGP Italy, the FP1 standings
Fabio Di Giannantonio with new tires mounted at the end was the fastest in the first free practice session of the Italian GP at Mugello. The Ducati VR46 rider stopped the clock at 1’46″242 ahead of Jorge Martin with Aprilia, for the first time branded on the fairings with the new sponsor Monster.

Ai Ogura, Maverick Vinales and Jack Miller completed the top-5. Marc Marquez finished in 15th position without ever changing tires, trying step by step to regain feeling on the bike, the World Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi preceded him in 14th position, eighth time for Francesco Bagnaia who had been the fastest at the start of the session and who could not improve at the end due to a long slide at San Donato.
Truly remarkable so far is the performance of Michele Pirro immediately close to Marc Marquez, Cal Crutchlow, on the other hand, pays for inactivity and is currently decidedly distant from the rest of the group.
The track was not in perfect condition after the rain that fell early in the morning, we will see if the sessions will be completely dry or if there will be more showers.

The schedule
MotoGP returns to the track this afternoon at 3 pm for the session that will determine the first ten qualifiers for Q2. Tomorrow at 10:10 am FP2, followed by Q1 (10:50) and Q2 (11:15), while the Sprint will start at 3 pm. Sunday, this time at 2 pm, the seventh GP of the 2026 World Championship.
