The overtake on Haas
Bittersweet weekend for Racing Bulls in Montreal, where the Faenza team can leave the circuit named after Gilles Villeneuve with both satisfaction and some regrets. On one hand, thanks especially to the 7th place achieved by Liam Lawson, the team managed to overtake Haas in the Constructors’ standings, positioning itself sixth behind Alpine.

The biggest challenges
Excellent performance by the New Zealand driver, who in the final part of the GP managed to fend off attacks from Alpine’s Gasly two weeks after the controversies following the contact between the two in Miami: “After a difficult start to the weekend, finishing in seventh position is definitely a good result for us, so it’s nice to bring home points for the team – he commented – overall, it wasn’t an easy race. We made up ground from the start, but we also struggled with the car’s balance and lacked a bit of speed throughout the race. The biggest challenge was maintaining the right tire temperature, something we managed to do only in the full-throttle laps. The Alpines were faster than us today and Pierre didn’t make my life easy at the end of the race when I was on soft tires, so I’m happy to have defended my position. I can’t wait to race again in Monaco in a couple of weeks, ahead of the European part of the season.”

The clutch stops Lindblad
In the points zone in the Sprint, unlike his teammate, Arvid Lindblad was unable to start due to a clutch failure that occurred at the start, which was delayed by a lap due to the late extinguishing of the red lights: “We had a problem with the clutch at the beginning of the formation lap, which prevented me from participating in the race. I was really excited to get on track and drive in mixed conditions, so not having the chance to do so is obviously disappointing. It’s a real shame because until then the weekend had been really positive. The team worked flawlessly all weekend and the updates we brought were giving great results, so it’s frustrating not to have achieved the result we felt we deserved today. There are still many positive aspects to consider for the next race and we are very confident. I can’t wait to get back on track and drive a Formula 1 in Monaco for the first time.”
