More than half of the routes modified
There is still a wait for another historic world championship event like the Rally Finland, which this year will take place from July 30 to August 2. Yet, this edition will feature a program almost entirely revised compared to that of 2025, with 66% of the special stages different from last year’s route.

Super Sunday changes
A choice that has sparked debate among Finnish rally lovers, and which adds to the exclusion of Ouninpohja from Super Sunday with the replacement of Himos-Jämsä. A 30 km route designed by the organizers to make the rally more spectacular for drivers and spectators: “One of our goals is to avoid repeating the same rally for two consecutive years – explained race director Kai Tarkiainen – in 2026 about 66% of the special stages will be different from the previous year. The rally must evolve to remain interesting both for those driving and for those following the event from the audience.”

New routes and modifications
The major news will focus on Friday, July 30, with the Laukaa special stage being tackled in the opposite direction compared to previous editions. In addition, there will be the entries of Sydänmaa and Hoho, routes never tackled before in the history of the WRC. Referring to Sydänmaa, for Tarkiainen “it brings together all types of roads, all very fast. It is the essence of the Finnish rally in the WRC.”
