Saturday to forget
It was not an easy Saturday for Charles Leclerc in Montreal. After grabbing fifth place in the Sprint, the Monegasque Ferrari driver was a clear loser in the direct comparison with teammate Lewis Hamilton in qualifying, showing himself slower than the seven-time world champion in all three phases of the session. In the end, #16 achieved eighth place and will start from the fourth row tomorrow while Hamilton will start from fifth position on the grid, in the third row.

Premonitory team radio
Leclerc appeared very nervous on the radio, repeatedly complaining about the car and gave a rather unusual outburst for him at the end of Q2, somehow ‘predicting’ what would be the final outcome of Q3. “I’m completely off pace, completely off pace. I will finish Q3 either in eighth position or against the wall. We just have to make sure you give me clean air. I don’t care about anything else, just clean air. That’s all that matters,” said the Ferrari driver.

Indeed, Leclerc was a good prophet, albeit unwillingly, finishing the session in P8, in the last place among the four top teams who, as expected, will monopolize the first four rows of tomorrow’s GP. Montreal is one of the favorite tracks of his teammate Lewis Hamilton, but it is clear that there are setup problems and consequently a lack of feeling between the Monegasque and the SF-26. We will see if the rain forecast for tomorrow’s race can help him and allow him to ‘save’ the weekend.
