The nine-time world champion injured the fifth and fourth metatarsals of his right foot and brought forward the surgery on his right shoulder already planned after Barcelona to remove a screw from a 2019 operation that was affecting the radial nerve (the movement of the screw was a consequence of the accident in Mandalika) making it really difficult for Marc Marquez to ride because the champion could not predict if and when he would lose strength in his right arm.

Marc Marquez on Instagram had already posted a photo in the stories on Sunday showing him following the race during a rehabilitation session and yesterday he posted a video of a weight training session for his right arm. Team manager Davide Tardozzi stated that a medical check-up is scheduled for this week and then Marquez and Ducati will decide whether to race already at Mugello or take a bit more time to show up in optimal physical condition later.
