Polestar announces a series of targeted updates to improve the driving experience and charging performance of its two electric SUVs Polestar 3 and Polestar 4. The two models are now available for order, with entry prices set at 83,600 euros for the first and 65,100 euros for the second. This is an evolution aimed at making the vehicles more efficient, technologically more advanced and even more capable in daily performance and travel.
Polestar 3 and 4 get updated
In the case of Polestar 3, the most significant upgrade concerns the introduction of the new 800 Volt electric architecture, designed to enable faster DC charging and ensure greater power and overall efficiency. Now the car can reach a DC charging power of up to 350 kW, with the goal of completing a charge from 10 to 80% in just 22 minutes under optimal conditions, with a 35% improvement compared to before. Supporting this performance leap is also the Breathe Charge system, software that continuously monitors the battery status and dynamically adjusts the charging speed to achieve more consistent performance while preserving the battery’s health in the long term. To put it simply: this means up to 38% more range in a 10-minute DC session compared to charging without Breathe Charge.
Dynamics and technology
The updates also concern dynamics and technological evolution. In terms of performance, Polestar 3 introduces a new rear synchronous permanent magnet motor on all versions. On dual motor configurations it is paired with a front asynchronous motor: in the Performance variant the total power reaches up to 500 kW. Efficiency and driving balance also improve thanks to adjustments to settings and components, such as automatic disconnection of the front motor, torque distribution more oriented to the rear, updated suspensions and revised anti-roll bars. On the onboard intelligence front, the SUV now integrates the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin processor, with a computing capacity increased by more than eight times.
Recalibrated chassis
Polestar 4 also continues on its growth trajectory. Among the novelties is the new Polestar 4 coupé version, with a recalibrated chassis to refine agility, comfort and precision. The Dual motor variants maintain the performance leadership of the range, thanks to a 0 to 100 km/h sprint completed in 3.8 seconds, combined with a carbon footprint declared as the lowest among the brand’s models.
