Fifth place confirmed
There is no disappointment for Aprilia. The fifth place obtained by Jorge Martin under the checkered flag at the end of the Buriram Sprint race is safe. The Spaniard had been investigated by the stewards due to the emergence of anomalous data regarding the front tire pressure. In these cases, the risk is always a penalty in seconds, but the 2024 world champion has been ‘acquitted‘.
In the official statement released by the stewards, the version provided by Martin and Aprilia itself was confirmed: the low pressure was caused by a leak in the rim, probably caused by a slightly too aggressive excursion over a curb by the #89 of the Noale-based manufacturer. The stewards also established that the tire pressure was indeed regular at the start of the race.
