‘Safe’ power units for customers to ensure they clock up kilometers without apprehension and a more aggressive specification for the works team ahead of the final homologation scheduled for March 1: according to what has emerged, Mercedes adopted a ‘branched’ strategy at the power unit level during the Bahrain tests.

McLaren, Williams and Alpine can therefore count on a performance step ahead of the season debut in Melbourne given that they will receive the ‘final’ version of the power unit that Mercedes will homologate for the start of the season.
