Positive Hamilton
After the first three races, Lewis Hamilton arrived in Miami determined to continue along the lines of his encouraging start to the championship: “Everyone has had the chance to rethink what has happened so far and everyone has been able to work on their respective cars, to perfect them. I feel charged. I have been at the simulator practically every week and I have been at the factory practically every week. I have done a lot of training and preparation. Analyzing the last race again, I thought we had difficulties with power, but it was not the engine, more a combination of things that made me lose 8-9 tenths per lap. We understood what those things were and we solved them. It will then be interesting to see what difference the regulation changes will make.”
Ferrari engine sore point
As is known, Ferrari has to chase on the engine front and to give a jolt in this sense it will have to wait for the assignment of the ADUO.
Hamilton also spoke about this aspect on Thursday in Miami: “I am grateful for all the hard work done, I was able to see with my own eyes how hard the team has worked for the updates. I think there is a power gap compared to Mercedes and probably also to Ford (Red Bull, ed). To close this gap double the development of the others is necessary and it will be a tough task. If a team gains a tenth, we will have to gain two. If they gain two, we will have to gain three or four. It is really a lot, but we have to keep pushing to be able at some point, to close the deficit on the engine front“, concluded the Englishman of Ferrari.
