What a miracle a year ago
Yamaha is preparing to return to the track in Jerez for the Spanish GP. A year ago, Fabio Quartararo performed a real miracle, finishing the GP in second position behind Alex Marquez after securing a splendid pole position. Below are his words, those of his teammate Alex Rins, and those of team manager Maio Meregalli.
Fabio Quartararo: “It’s good to be back on track after a three-week break, and the start of the European part of the season is always a moment we look forward to. Jerez is a circuit with a special atmosphere, the fans are fantastic, and you really feel that energy as soon as you arrive. I have fond memories associated with this track. For me, it’s special because I achieved my first MotoGP victory here. An intense period awaits us with many races in a short time, so the goal is to work step by step and give our best every weekend.”
Alex Rins: “We’ve had a few weeks without races, but now we’re back. The atmosphere in Jerez is always fantastic, and it’s a circuit I enjoy riding. We know the next two months will be very intense with many races close together, so the goal is to stay focused, continue working with the team, and give our best every time we hit the track.”

Maio Meregalli: “We’re back to racing after a three-week break and starting the European part of the season in Jerez. Not only is it a place the whole team likes, but it’s also a circuit where fans truly feel the emotion of MotoGP. This round also marks the beginning of an important period. The calendar ahead is very demanding, with eight races in less than twelve weeks before the summer break. Additionally, we also have tests in Jerez on Monday. The team will approach this weekend with renewed motivation and our usual maximum commitment.”
